ec56 1 1 high slew rate rail - to - rail single operational amplifiers with otp 4g10n rev. f001 page 4 o f 1 1 figure (d) l arge signal t ransient response applic a tions inform a t ion product de s cription the ec 5 6 1 1 rail - t o - rail o n e ch a nne l a mplifier is built on an a dvanced hi g h voltage c m os pr o c e ss. its beyond rails input c a pability and full swi n g of output ran g e makes itself an ideal amp l ifier for use in a wid e r a nge of ge ne ral - p u rp o se appl i c atio n s . the featur e s of 4 0v/s h igh slew rate, fast settling time, 30mhz of gbwp as well a s high outp u t driving cap ab ility have proven the ec 5 6 1 1 a g o od voltage ref e rence buffer i n tft - lc d for grayscale refere n c e ap plicati o ns. h i gh p h ase marg i n a n d extremely l o w p o w e r consumpti o n m a ke the ec 56 1 1 ideal for c o n n e c ted in voltage foll o w e r mo d e for l o w p o w e r high d rive appl i c atio n s . supply voltage, input r a nge and o u tput s w i ng the ec56 1 1 can b e o p erat e d with a si n gle nomi n al wide supply voltage ra n ging from 6v to 18v wi th stable perf o rma n ce over operati n g temperature of - 40 c t o + 8 5 c. with 500mv greater than rail - to - rail input common mode voltage range and 70db of common mode rejection ratio, t he ec5 6 1 1 allows a w id e ra n ge se n s ing a mo n g many appl ic ations wit ho u t having any concerns over exceed i ng the r a nge and no c o mpr o mise in acc u r a cy. the out p ut sw i n g s of t he ec56 1 1 typically extend to within 80mv of p ositive a n d negative su p ply rails with l oad curr e nts of 5ma. the output voltage swi n g can be even clos e r to t he su p ply rai l s b y merely d e cre a si n g the l oad curr e nt. figure 1 shows the input and output waveforms for the device in the unity - gain configuration. the amplifier is operated under 5v supply with a 10k load connected to gnd. the input is a 10vp - p sinusoid. an approximately 9.985 vp - p of output voltage swing can be easily achieved. figure (e) large signal t ransient response figure 1. ope r ation w i t h r a i l - to - rail i n put a n d output outp u t sho r t circuit cu r rent li m it a +/ - 3 0 0ma short circuit c u rr e nt will be limited by t he ec56 1 1 if the output is dir e ctly s h orted to the positive or t h e negative supply. for a n indefinitely output sh o rt circuit, the power d i ss i pation c o u l d easily i n cre a se such t h at the device may be dam a ged. t h e internal m etal interco n necti o ns a re well d e si g n e d to prevent the output contin u o u s c u rr e nt from exceed i ng +/ - 1 00ma s u ch that the maximum rel i ability can be well ma i ntained. outp u t pha s e re v ersal the ec5 6 1 1 is de sig n ed to prevent its output from be i ng ph a se reversal as l ong a s the i n put voltage is limited from v s - - 0.5v to v s+ + 0.5v. figure 2 s ho ws a p hoto of the device o utput with its input voltage driven b e yond the supply rails. although the phase of the devic e 's o utput will not be revers e d, the input's over - volta g e shou l d be avoided. an impr o p e r inp u t voltage ex c ee d s su p ply ra n ge by m o re than 0.6v may r e sult in an ov e r str e ss dam ag e.
